Out and about in Langley- Playgrounds

Playgrounds in Langley

With so many choices, here are a few great options in Langley to entertain and engage kids of all ages in outdoor play. Here are a few of my favorites…

City Park

This park features Al Anderson Memorial Pool, children’s waterpark and Dinosaur themed playground, a lacrosse box, 12 picnic tables, a picnic shelter, grassed open space and washrooms. This park also includes grass play field at the south end fronting 48 Avenue and three ball diamonds on the north end of the park next to Blacklock Elementary School. Three covered picnic shelters that can accommodate up to 30 people each are also available.

Douglas Park

Douglas Park has an accessible playground, two tennis courts, a water park (seasonal), bowling green, sports box, basketball hoops and public washrooms. Douglas Recreation Centre, situated in the park, offers many programs for the citizens of Langley and is also available for rentals such as wedding receptions or banquets, etc. For more information, phone (604) 514-2865.

Hazel Grove Park (Technically Clayton Heights)

Hazel grove Park is a 3.5-hectares (8.65 acres) community park and is home to Surrey's first purpose-built parkour course. The park is located between 190 and 191 Street, north of Hazel grove Elementary School. Park features include a grass soccer field, playground and spray park, tennis courts, and basketball court. The parking lot and a washroom building are accessible from 190 Street.

Linwood Park

Linwood Park has a soccer field, and wheelchair user accessible playground, zipline and zip seat for kids. The park has playing equipment even for the young ones. Washrooms are available, and the site has access to a parking lot off of Michaud Crescent. This park also has a dog-off-leash park and community garden site.

Penzer Parkour Park

Penzer Parkour Park has a full-size parkour climbing area, with rubber hills, wooden climbing structures, dirt jumps for mountain bikers, along with pump track, scooter/skate park, basketball court, and hockey box. There are Washrooms and covered picnic area.

Williams Park

Williams Park is an excellent picnic place, large playground with natural wooden structures for climbing, swings, and treed nature area. Washroom facilities are clean and well maintained. There are walking trails, open field and a creek.

Willoughby Community Centre

With a 2-storey twisty slide, and 3-storey climbing structure, this park has lots to keep your big kids and little ones entertained. The super bouncy ground makes for less ouches and more fun! There is lots of places to run outside of the playground, and the water park is spacious too. Washrooms are close by in the Willoughby Community Centre.
