MORE DEFINES OUR EVERY MOVE
Michael Thorne
Personal Real Estate Corporation
“I want to be involved in people’s stories, I want to be there for these huge moments in people’s lives – it’s what I’ve always wanted to do.”
Michael Thorne is keenly aware of the gravity of his chosen occupation. He doesn’t take lightly the fact that clients trust him to be a steady hand – and a source of “compassion and passion” – to hold on to through something as life-changing as a move. His daily motivation comes from “the legacy of the people we’re able to help.”
Michael’s relationship with real estate has been a lifelong (and family) affair. Both of his parents were agents, and he started working at a real estate office when he was 15 years old. He got his real estate license at 19. Real estate, he says, allows him to be an ambassador for the community that shaped him.
Michael is known (and beloved) for his curiosity. Michael attributes his notoriety as one of Inman News’ 100 Top Real Estate Innovators to his confidence in two simple words: what if? While his ebullience and fun-loving nature are what make him an esteemed character in the industry, his drive to provide a cutting-edge experience for his clients has made him a pioneer in the expert union of real estate and video.
Video, for Michael, changed everything. And once you get to know him, you see why. Stillness is not a natural state for Michael, and thus his energy and passion translate perfectly to video.
Michael uses his expertise in video not only to sell clients’ homes but also to showcase the neighbourhood where he has lived his entire life. “I built my business in North Langley, I built my life here – this is home.”. He now lives 10 blocks from the hobby farm where he grew up, 7 blocks away from the high school he graduated from (he was the then-new high school’s first graduating class), and 5 blocks away from where he began his real estate career.
Michael sees himself as owing a great debt. Not monetary, but rather the sense of duty to the community that has given him what he calls his “ridiculously amazing life.” His passion for his hometown stems from an eagerness for “other people to be able to experience living here, to raise their kids here and have their kids feel about this area the way I feel about it.” And outside of real estate? Michael describes himself as “[living] at the hockey rink, at the baseball diamond,” coaching his kids. “My dream was to be a great dad.”
Jorda Maisey
Personal Real Estate Corporation
“This business has allowed me to care for people, and in return, it has allowed me to be very successful in more ways than one.”
Jorda is known for her steadfastness in high-pressure situations and the immense care with which she approaches helping clients make tough decisions. Her skills in financial planning, legislative business, and market dynamics supplement her talent for the softer side of real estate. Under her poised and sophisticated exterior, Jorda has a huge heart. Jorda’s many lifetime clients attest to her dedication to their ‘satisfaction’ and long-lasting happiness.
Jorda’s first home was in Aldergrove. When it came time to think about the best schools for her daughter, Trisha, she found North Langley. However, what are now multi-lane thoroughfares were, when Jorda first moved to North Langley, dirt roads. “They were still bringing cattle across the roads, and Thunderbird Center was a riding stable.” As Jorda watched Trisha grow up, she also bore witness to North Langley coming of age.
Jorda’s 1993 decision to leave a great job in the city to start a real estate career back home in Langley is tied directly to her relationship with her community – and she hasn’t looked back. “It was a lifestyle change, but I wanted more time in the community to give back.” In addition to contributing to youth groups and charity organizations, Jorda’s involvement in organized real estate on a government relations side has been for her a fulfilling way to contribute. In discussions with all levels of government, Jorda is dedicated to lending a community perspective – to centre the discussion on “how to keep these communities great, because people want to live here.” She has a personal stake, after all.
When not preparing listings for sale and showing real estate, Jorda is a competitive curler and loves to ski (these days, at a slightly slower pace, as she is currently teaching her young grandchildren). She loves to take her friend’s horses out for tours in Campbell Valley Park, to see events at Thunderbird, and to travel. And, like Michael and Trisha, she loves to come home.
Trisha Bongers, BA
Personal Real Estate Corporation
“We’re here to consult, not pressure clients. If the timing and the market aren’t right, I’ll tell them.”
Trisha rolls up her sleeves and gets things done. She began her real estate career working predominantly with first-time buyers. Living on a local family-run dairy farm has made Trisha unafraid “to get down and dirty” – whether it be on the farm, playing soccer, or putting herself through college working as a referee – echoes her approach to real estate.
Trisha grew up in Langley, and, following a degree in Communications at Trinity Western University (which helped her hone a sharp business and marketing sensibility), chose to stay “because of the community.” She fondly recalls having snowball fights with friends, rollerblading down paths, and horseback riding with her mom on weekends in Campbell Valley Park when she was younger. She has always loved sports, and when she first started playing baseball at seven, the town was so small that she was one of only three girls on the team. Now, she helps move these same young boys she played baseball with as a child – who now have families – into their own homes. This cyclical and rooted connection to the community runs deep for Trisha.
Trisha’s commitment to honesty is something her clients love about her, and that sets her apart in the industry. Clients don’t hesitate to put their futures in her hands. The trust and excitement involved in helping clients find their first-ever home is something Trisha cherishes. That these first-time homeowners “love the work that we did, and [are] not moving,” delights her. “They’re happy where they are, and that makes me happy.”
In the end, Trisha’s knack for compromise and versatility means she is “a balance between Jorda and Michael.” As the leader of the team’s social media efforts, Trisha also crafts much of the marketing that helps TMB sell clients’ homes. She is the glue that holds everything together within the team and for her clients.

Her integration into the team has been as smooth as her transition into the real estate industry. With her easygoing nature, punctuality, and honesty, she effortlessly built relationships with the agents, becoming an integral part of the team dynamic. Jody’s days are filled with managing tasks and schedules, and leveraging extensive systems and tools to support the team and their clients. A self-professed "gramma, crafter, sewer, canner, and camper," she believes in giving back to her community, and during the holidays, gifts Christmas presents to seniors through London Drugs' Stockings for Seniors initiative.
When asked what sets the TMB Real Estate Group apart, Jody's answer is quick and definite. “Their wealth of knowledge and shared history makes them a unique group. Having worked together for a considerable length of time speaks volumes about their unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.
Jody's approach to continuously improving client experience is rooted in empathy and innovation. "Think out of the box and do what I would like to have done for me." It's this mindset, coupled with her unwavering dedication, that positions her as the invaluable backbone of the team, ensuring that the agents can focus on their tasks while clients enjoy an excellent experience. Jody is indeed the sparkle that amplifies the TMB Real Estate Group's shine.
MORE UNIQUE
We are three very different professionals, with different talents, experiences and expertise. We each come to work every day with a myriad of different ideas. So what brings us together, other than a passion for real estate? One common goal: more clients’ lasting happiness.
MORE ROOTED
The Fraser Valley is home. All three of us were born and raised here, and we’ve chosen to keep calling it home ever since.
We’ve been to a lot of other places. But we’re always excited to come home. We raised our families here because we know exactly how special this place is. We have something to protect and share. Luckily, we’ve found just the job to do both.
MORE GIVING
For us, giving isn’t just writing a cheque. Each of us has lasting commitments to this community that continue to grow over time. From Jorda’s leadership of civic organizations such as the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and the Rotary Club to part of every sale donated to the Children’s Miracle Network, giving runs deep for us.
